Internet Set-up

 

Windows XP Set-up

  • Press the start button, select Control Panel. Double-click the Network Connections and double-click on Create New Connection.
  • Click Next, select Connect to the Internet, click Next.
  • Select Setup my Internet connection manually and click Next.
  • Select Connect using a dial-up modem and click Next.
  • Type DC Access in the ISP Name text box. Click Next.
  • Enter a DC Access dial in number local to you in the Phone Number box. Click Next.
  • Type your Internet ID in the Username box and type your password in both the Password and Confirm Password boxes and click Next.
  • Click Finish to complete the setup wizard.

Windows XP Dialing In

  • Click on the Start button.
  • Select Connect To.
  • Click on DC Access Connection
  • Click on the Dial button to connect.

Windows XP Hanging Up

  • When you are done with your Internet session and want to hang up the modem, you need to open the DC Access Connection Status window. You can do this by looking in the Windows XP task bar next to the clock. You should see the Connection Status icon (Two computer screens). Double-click on this icon.
  • The DC Access Connection Status will appear. To hang up, click the Disconnect button. This will end your internet session.
  • Click Close.
