What is ADSL?

ADSL (Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line) provides a dedicated service over a single existing telephone line. Using digital coding techniques, more than 98% capacity can be gained out of a phone line!

What are the Benefits?

  • Simultaneous Internet and voice/fax over a single telephone line, which means you can talk on the phone and surf the net at the same time
  • No busy signal while surfing the Net
  • Uninterrupted, high-speed internet access that's always on-line
  • Data security that exceeds other technologies

How fast is "High-speed"?

ADSL provides downstream speeds up to 4Mbps (to the user), and 640Kbps Upstream (from the user). This means it is ideal for user's who download more than they send.

Is there anything I will need to purchase?

For ADSL, your computer needs an ADSL modem (which will be supplied), and a Network Card. You cannot use a conventional analog modem to connect to this service.

Can I keep my existing Username and Password?

Yes, all of your current settings can be integrated into your new connection.

What are the minimum hardware requirements?

  • Pentium class PC or higher
  • Windows 95 or higher
  • CD-ROM Drive
  • 32MB RAM
  • At least one free ISA or PCI slot for Ethernet card
