E-mail Set-up
The following are instructions on how to set up the
common Email programs.
Netscape
7
- Open up Netscape 7 email and select (Edit) and select (Mail
& Newsgroup Account Settings)
- Click on (Add Account) select "Email Account"
and click (next)
- Enter your name and your email address in the appropriate fields
and click (next)
- Select "POP" under the "type of incoming
server you are using".
- Enter "pop.memlane.com" as the name
of your incoming server.
- Enter "smtp.memlane.com" as
the name of your outgoing server and click (next).
- In the "User Name" field enter your username
(Your username is everything before the @ symbol in your
e-mail address. Ex.: If the e-mail address is jdoe@memlane.com
then the username is jdoe.), click (next)
- Enter the name by which you would like to refer to this account
(for example, "Work Account", "Home Acount",
or "News Account", click (next)
- Select (Finish) on the summary screen

Outlook
Express 6.0
- Double click on Outlook Express icon on desktop
- Select (Tools) then (Accounts)
- In the accounts window, select the "Mail Tab"
and click "Add" then "Mail"
- Type in your real name and select "Next"
- Type in your Email address (username@memlane.com)
- Select "Next"
- From the "My incoming mail server is a" drop
down, select POP3
- In the "Incoming Mail box" enter the following,
all in lowercase: pop.memlane.com
- In the "Outgoing Mail box" enter the following,
all in lowercase: smtp.memlane.com
- Select "Next"
- In the "Account Name" enter your username
(Your username is everything before the @ symbol in your
e-mail address. Ex.: If the e-mail address is jdoe@memlane.com
then the username is jdoe.)
- In the "Password" box, enter your password
(Note: ENTERING YOUR PASSWORD HERE WILL ALLOW USE WITHOUT
ENTERING THE PASSWORD EACH TIME YOU RETRIEVE/SEND MAIL)
- Select "Next" and click "Finish"
- You are now finished setting up Outlook Express
