Purchasing and training dogs for the blind. As well as sending the blind for training to handle the dogs

 

·  Deafblind Interviener Program

Lion's have assisted the Medicine Hat College with the purchase of equipment for this diploma course which teaches students to act as intervieners for deafblind people.

 

·  Sports

Financially assist local sports clubs

 

·  Parks

Funded the building of Lion's Park. Medicine Hat Lion's 1st project started in 1952. Also assisted with the land clearing, building and funding of Strathcona Park and baseball diamond. Recent pledge for $100,000.00 for Southridge Park Comples

 

·  CNIB

Lion's Clubs International support the blind, therefore our club donates to the local Canadian National Institute For The Blind

 

·  Canada Day Breakfast

Together with Crescent Heights  Lions serve a free breakfast to local residents on July 1

 

·  Police Point Christmas Hayride

The Lions Club of Medicine Hat in conjunction with the Police Point Interpretive Centre Offer a Free Hayride and Christmas celebration each year in December

 

·  Hospital Equipment

Purchase of sight related equipment

 

·  City of Medicine Hat Fire Department

Purchase Jaws of Life. Then had old equipment donated to rural volunteer firefighters
